The radiator is a heat exchanger that transfers the temperature of the coolant to the ambient air. Its purpose is to maintain the engine temperature to a correct level and ensure a maximum engine power, low fuel consumption and prevent wear of engine components.

Renault Trucks radiators are available as new parts complete (Genuine), or remanufactured (Reman), or radiator without frame

The radiator body is specifically designed to ensure optimal cooling of the coolant. The sizing of the fins enhances the performance of the heat exchanger.

The design of the frame and the plastic tanks allow the radiator to integrate perfectly into its surroundings.
An adaptable part can be difficult to fit and be damaged by the elements around it, causing leaks or premature wear of the radiator.

  • the remanufactured radiators Reman: equivalent quality to that of a genuine part and up to 30 % cheaper.

Economy

With an underperforming radiator (adaptable part or damaged radiator), fuel consumption increases. In fact, to overcome the underperformance of the radiator and provide the required cooling, the fan must activate more frequently. The consequence of this is to reduce the power of the engine which then compensates by an increase in the output power and therefore generates greater fuel consumption.

Ultimately, underperformance of the radiator can lead to damage that can go as far as engine breakage. The costs incurred will then be much greater than a simple radiator replacement.

FAQ

I'm afraid of the quality level of Reman radiators.

Reman Renault Trucks radiators are renovated according to a strict process defined by our engineers. Each component is checked and tested: there is no compromise on quality. The renovation process is an industrial process which guarantees a homogeneous level of quality for all the parts.

I don't want to buy original Renault Trucks parts because they are too expensive compared to adaptable parts.

Renault Trucks radiators have been developed specifically to integrate perfectly into the environment of each vehicle. An adaptable part may have slightly different dimensions which make it more difficult to fit the part and increase the risk of damaging the radiator body (and therefore of leaking).

In addition, the aluminum brazing technique used in the manufacture of Renault Trucks radiators guarantees robustness and optimum heat exchange. This is not the case with other production techniques which may be employed by our competitors.

I prefer to have my radiator repaired, it costs me less.

Having your radiator repaired can certainly cost less at first. However, keep in mind that the components will not be checked as precisely as during the Renault Trucks renovation process.

The risk is therefore to carry out a repair without seeing weaknesses in other components. The life of the radiator will be shorter and the part will have to be replaced anyway, which will be more expensive in the end. The repair can also reduce the cooling capacity of the radiator if a leak is blocked, for example.
