FAQ
The air conditioning compressor is not part of the mandatory maintenance, do I still need to check it?
The air conditioning compressor does not require any specific maintenance. However, it is important to activate the air conditioning function especially if you have not used it for a long time (for example in winter) to avoid leaks and to maintain good oil circulation. The air conditioning compressor ensures good circulation of the refrigerant.
If you notice less cold air in your cabin, you should check the HVAC components to see if the problem is with the A/C compressor, filters, or the HVAC unit, etc.
Why should I buy a Genuine A / C compressor?
The HVAC system is an important part of your truck as it provides heating and cooling to the cab. It affects the working conditions of your driver, especially in difficult weather situations. Genuine air conditioning compressors are designed to integrate seamlessly into the HVAC system and to withstand extreme engine vibration and long hours of driving. Non-OEM parts may have slightly different dimensions and may not fit correctly.
Genuine Renault Trucks air conditioning compressors have a specific design thanks to a part called the "Soft nose" which ensures better sealing and better service life.
My air conditioner does not seem to work anymore, does this mean that my air conditioning compressor is defective?
The air conditioning compressor is a very robust part. A faulty air conditioning can be caused by a leak, a dirty cabin air filter or a receiver dryer, etc.
It is therefore important to see a Renault Trucks certified technician to have a correct diagnosis because they have all the tools and software necessary to detect if there is a fault code on the part. Correct diagnosis can prevent costly and unnecessary air conditioning compressor replacement.
